Pick of the Week - Bedroom Sanctuary

Posted by Janice Simonsen on February 17, 2013

This week's pick is a bedroom sanctuary made by Catiebilz!  I love, love this wall color! Anyone who thinks that neutral tones are boring will change their mind when they see how beautiful they are when skillfully combined with other elements.

This bedroom hits the mark for an uncluttered, restful yet cozy bedroom. The key to creating this soothing bedroom environment starts with choosing a calm neutral background color, and then pairing with HEMNES furniture series. The simple lines of the bed and dresser keep the mood of the room serene and restful, and the contrast of the dark woods against the lighter butterscotch wall creates a beautiful color combination. The bedroom also provides enough storage to keep clothing and books neatly organized, adding to the all-important feeling of calm.

Keeping the color palette limited to two or three colors is another trick employed to keep the room looking restful and relaxing. The crisp bedding echoes the wall and furniture colors and looks soothing and inviting.Catiebilz finishes off the room with warm, personal details, like the arrangement of wedding photos on the adjacent wall. Using two UNG DRILL mirrors side by side over the HEMNES dresser is a nice touch! They add variety to the shapes used in the room and subtly repeat the curvy floral shapes in the bedding.

Beautifully done, Catiebilz!

  • It IS! It's a HEMNES TV bench with a customized cushion added. Smart!
