Growing up in a Polish household, folky type home accessories were all too familiar. My mother had a collection of colorful paper cut-outs, that she had brought back from her many trips to our home land. They were so fascinating, just like snowflakes, so intricate. And my grandmother brought all her mad skills here to the U.S., and passed it all to my mother and aunts. They were seamstresses, quilters, needle workers, knitters and crafters, as am I.
The Slavic and Scandinavian countries share these similarities, and at IKEA, being a bit folksy goes along with the territory. So if old world charm is appealing to you, we might just have what you’re looking for!
